What is a ductless mini-split?
Mini-split systems direct heating or cooling to one room or small area of your home. They make sense for homes or parts of homes that don’t have an existing duct system.
A ductless mini split system has two parts: an outdoor compressor unit and one (or more) indoor units. The two units are connected by a refrigerant line threaded through holes drilled behind the indoor units.
Electricity from the outdoor unit powers a fan in the indoor unit, sending cooled air into an area. At the same time, warm air is removed from the space and sent to the outdoor unit.
This may sound complicated, but for the ductless A/C experts at Absolute Comfort, we can provide your installation quickly and efficiently.
Will a ductless mini-split system save me money? What are the benefits?
Some common places where a ductless system system make sense are the garage, a guest house, or in home additions. Ductless systems are not traditional, but they can still provide benefits to your home. Some of these benefits include:
- Flexible cooling – If you have areas in your home that just don’t get cool enough, a ductless system can provide supplemental cooling without the need to change the ductwork completely.
- Lower your energy costs – Ductless cooling systems make it easy to only cool the rooms you’re using, so you can lower your energy costs by not cooling unused rooms.
- Improved indoor air quality – The filtration system in your ductless system will reduce the amount of allergens in the air.
- Ease of installation – Ductless mini-split system installation is straightforward because there’s no ductwork.
