How Do Whole House Fans Work?
Anytime it’s cooler outside than inside your home, you can very quickly and efficiently cool down your whole house by using your whole house fan. Here in the Sacramento Valley, this normally happens in the evening through to the next morning.
When your turn on your whole house fan and open several windows or doors, it pulls the cooler outdoor air into your home, through the rooms, into the attic and out the vents, replacing the hot stale air.
